 Potato bajra hash browns/ Pearl millet potato hash browns 


Potato bajra hash browns are healthy, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian delicacy. It is an easy, instant, quick and lip smacking dish. This is a perfect breakfast dish combined with raw grated potatoes, bajra flour (pearl millet flour), onion, coriander leaves and flavoured spices. 


Quick recipe tip -

1. Peel and grate potatoes. Wash grated potatoes 3-4 times. 

2. Adjust spices according to taste. 


Ingredients -

4 potatoes grated

1 onion chopped

1 tsp ginger grated

3 tbsp coriander leaves chopped

1 tsp green chilli paste

4 tbsp bajra flour/ Pearl millet flour

To taste salt

1/4 tsp red chilli powder 

Method -

1. Peel and grate potatoes in a bowl. Wash grated potatoes 3-4 times. Drain grated and washed potatoes in the strainer. Keep aside for 5 minutes.


2. Take a bowl add drained potatoes, onion, coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli paste.


3. Add bajra flour, salt and red chilli powder.


4. Mix everything very well. Keep aside for 10 minutes.


5. After 10 minutes mix again. Water will leach out from potatoes. 


6. Heat tawa/ griddle on slow flame. Drizzle a teaspoon of cooking oil on it. Now pour a spoonful of potato bajra mixture on the tawa. Spread a little. Cook on slow flame.


7. It should be a like a thick pancake. Drizzle oil on sides and cook on slow flame for 7-8 minutes. 


8. Change the side and cook another side till golden and crispy on medium low flame.


9. Cook till both sides are golden and crispy.


10. Potato bajra hash browns are ready.


11. Transfer to a serving plate and serve hot with ketchup.
