Soya Tomato Poori

 Soya Tomato Poori

It is a simple, easy and quick recipe. It is perfect for occasions or weekends. Grinding soya chunks to fine powder and then kneading the dough with tomato puree enhances it's flavours. Soya Tomato Poori can be served with pickle or curd. In frame it is served with matka chana. I have used Soya @mynutrela chunks and @holyland_group Golden crown tomato puree.

Ingredients -

2 cups soya chunks

1/2 cup water

2 cups wheat flour

1/4 cup suji

1/2 tsp ajwain

To taste salt

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

3 tbsp + 1 tsp oil

1 cup + 1 tbsp tomato puree

** Do not knead the dough with water.

Method -

1. Add soya chunks in mixer jar.

2.
Grind soya chunks to a fine powder.

3. Add water. Let it soak for 10 minutes.

4. After 10 minutes mix well.

5. Add wheat flour, suji, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and 3 tbsp oil. Mix well.

6. Mix well.

7. Add tomato puree.

8. Knead it to a medium hard dough.

9. Rub 1 tsp oil over the dough. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes.

10. Make small balls from the dough and roll it in round shape like poori.

11. Cut few poories in flower shape or any other shape you like with cookie cutter.

12. Flower shape poories are ready to fry.

13. Heat oil in a wok. Deep fry poories in hot oil on medium high flame till golden and crisp.

14. Soya Tomato Poori is ready.

15. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve hot.
