 Moong dal mini pizza 


Moong dal mini pizza is simple dish which can be relished in breakfast or can be consumed as a evening snack. This mini pizza is a gluten free dish which is prepared by soaking & grinding yellow moong dal along with green chilli and ginger to a smooth batter. 

Quick tips -

1. Seasoning and vegetables of your choice can be added.

2. Adjust spices to taste.


Makes : 6 mini pizza 

Ingredients for batter : 

Moong dal : 1 cup

Ginger : 1 inch

Green chilli : 2

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves : 2 tbsp chopped

Water : 1/4 cup or as needed

For topping :

Onion : 1 small, thinly sliced

Tomato : 1 small, thinly sliced

Capsicum : 1small, thinly sliced

Salt to taste

Red chilli powder to taste

Oregano to taste

Coriander leaves : 3-4 tbsp chopped 

Mozzarella cheese : 3 tbsp grated

Pizza sauce as needed

Tomato ketchup as needed 


Method : 

1. Clean and wash moong dal with water. Soak it for 7 hrs. Drain it.

2. Take a mixer jar add drained moong dal, ginger and green chilli. Add water little by little. Beat it to a smooth batter.

3. Consistency of the batter should be thick but pouring. Transfer the batter in the bowl. Add salt and coriander leaves. Mix well.

4. Heat tawa on medium flame. Drizzle very little oil. Switch the flame to slow. Pour a ladleful of batter on the tawa. Do not spread. Drizzle little oil on sides.

5. Cover the tawa with lid and cook on slow flame. After 3-4 minutes,  sides of the pizza base will be little dry, then turn the side.

6. Again drizzle very little oil on sides and cook on slow flame for 3-4 minute. 


7. Then turn the side of the pizza base. Spread pizza sauce, then tomato ketchup on it.

8. Place onion, tomato and capsicum on it. Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder and oregano on it.

9. Spread mozzarella cheese and top with coriander leaves. Cover pizza with lid and cook on slow flame for 2-3 minute.

10. When the cheese is melted, transfer it to a serving plate. Moong dal mini pizza is ready to serve. 


11. Transfer to a serving plate and serve hot.
