Aloo kofta curry

 Aloo kofta curry 


Ingredients for kofta - 

6-7 potatoes boiled 

1/4 cup bread crumbs

1/2 cup maida

To taste salt

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

2 tsp kasuri methi

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp ginger grated

1 tsp garlic cloves minced

For gravy - 

3-4 tbsp oil

3-4 garlic cloves

1 inch ginger

1 green chilli

1 cup curd

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 cup tomato puree

To taste salt

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp garam masala

2 cup water 


Method for kofta -

1. In a mixing bowl add boiled potatoes, bread crumbs, maida, salt, red chilli powder, kasuri methi, cumin seeds, ginger and garlic. Mix well.


2. Rub little oil on your hands and make balls from the mixture and keep aside till use.


3. Heat oil in a wok. Drop these balls gently in the medium hot oil and deep fry till golden.


4. Remove these fried potato balls from the oil. Koftas are ready.


For gravy - 

1.Heat oil in a wok. Add onions, garlic, ginger, green chilli and saute till golden. 


2. Fry till it is golden brown. Switch off the flame and let it cool.


3. 
Add this cooled mixture in the mixer jar.


4. Add curd and grind it.

5. Grind it to a smooth paste. Keep aside till use.

6. In the same wok add cumin seeds and let it splutter. Add tomato puree and cook for 5-6 minutes.

7. Add onion curd paste, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and mix.

8. Mix well and cook on slow flame.

9. Add water and mix. Cook on medium slow flame for 4-5 minutes. Stir in-between.

10. Gravy is ready.

For serving -
Add koftas in serving bowl. Pour gravy on it. Garnish with kasuri methi. Serve hot.
