Aloo stuffed bread pakora
Aloo stuffed bread pakora are very popular street food which is consumed in breakfast and can be eaten as snacks. It is prepared by stuffing potato mixture in bread slices, then these stuffed bread slices are dipped in gram flour (besan) batter and then deep frien till golden and crispy. These pakora s are served with tomato ketchup or chutney.
Quick tips -
1. Adjust spices to taste.
Ingredients :
Brown Bread : as needed
For batter -
Besan : 1 cup
Water as needed
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder to taste
1 tsp chat masala
For stuffing -
3 potatoes boiled
1 onion chopped
1 green chilli grated
3 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
1/2 tsp ajwain
To taste salt
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1 tbsp chat masala
Method for batter :
1. In a bowl add besan, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, chat masala and mix.
2. Add water and mix to a smooth lump free batter. Consistency should be like normal batter neither too thick nor too thin. Mix well. Keep aside.
3. For stuffing - In a bowl mix potatoes, onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder, chat masala, coriander powder. Mix well.
4. Take a bread slice. Spread stuffing on it.
5. Cover it with another slice.
6. Press it gently.
7. Cut it from the centre.
8. Both slices are perfectly sticked.
9. Stuff all the slices like this.
10. Dip the stuffed bread in the besan batter.
11. Coat both sides properly.
12. Deep fry in hot oil.
13. Fry till both the sides are golden.
14. Serve hot with ketchup.
