Custard chocolate cookies
A crunchy, delicious eggless chocolate cookies prepared using maida, custard powder and cocoa powder tastes real yum. These cookies are very easy to prepare.
Quick recipe tip -
1. Butter should be at room temperature.
2. If using salted butter skip salt.
3. Do not add water.
Dry ingredients -
1/2 cup maida
1/4 cup custard powder
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
Pinch salt
1 tbsp cashew nuts broken
Wet ingredients -
1/4 cup (50 gms) unsalted butter (soft)
1/2 cup powdered jaggery
1 tsp vanilla essence
Method -
1. In a bowl sieve maida, custard powder, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
2. Mix well using a whisker or spoon.
3. In a mixing bowl add butter, jaggery and vanilla essence. Mix well to a creamy mixture.
4. Mix maida custard mixture in butter jaggery mixture. Mix a tbsp at a time.
5. Add cashews and mix well to form a dough.
6. Take a small ball from the dough. Roll it and make a mark with spoon in the centre.
7. Arrange these cookies in the oven proof tray lined with foil paper.
8. Preheat oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. Place the tray in the oven and bake at 180°C for 12-15 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven and cool it completely.
10. Serve with tea or a glass of hot milk.

11. Preheat oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. Place the tray in the oven and bake at 180°C for 12-15 minutes.
12. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
13. Remove cookies on wire rack and cool completely.
14. Serve with tea or a glass of hot milk.
