Atta jaggery biscuits/ Whole wheat flour jaggery biscuits

Atta jaggery biscuits/ Whole wheat flour jaggery biscuits

Atta jaggery biscuits are all time favourite biscuits which are prepared without baking soda or baking powder. These biscuits are baked by binding only 4 ingredients i.e whole wheat flour, jaggery, cardamom powder and butter.

Recipe notes -

1. 3/4 cup = 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup

2. I have used Nutralite butter

3. Butter should be soft. It should not be melted.

4. Do not knead the dough. Only bind it together with spatula.

5. While baking keep a watch after 10 minutes. Mine gets properly baked in 15 minutes.

Ingredients -

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

4-1/2 tbsp butter (soft & unsalted)

4 tbsp jaggery powder

1 tsp cardamom powder

Method -

1. In a bowl add soft butter, cardamom powder and jaggery powder.

2. Whisk it well until light and fluffy.

3. Add whole wheat flour and mix well.

4. Mix well with your hands and bind it together.

5. Bind it to a soft dough ball. (Do not knead the dough.)

6. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.

7. After 30 minutes take a ball from the dough and roll it with a rolling pin in a slightly thick puri. It should not be too thick nor too thin.

8. Cut it into different shapes with cookie cutter.

9. Line oven proof tray with foil paper and grease with butter. Place these biscuits in the tray.

10. Preheat oven at 170°C for 10 minutes. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.

11. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely.

12. Atta jaggery biscuits are ready.

13. Can be consumed immediately or can be stored in air tight jar.
