Paneer tartlets
Paneer tartlets are easy, flaky and crispy tarts filled with paneer and topped with cheese.
Preheat oven : 220*C for 10 min
Bake : 25-30 minutes
Makes : 8
Ingredients for tartlets dough :
Maida : 1 cup
Salted Butter : 100 g
Ice cold water as needed
For filling :
Paneer : 250 g
Cooking oil : 2-3 tbsp
Cumin seeds : 1/2 tsp
Onion : 1 chopped
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
Kasuri methi to taste
Garam masala to taste
Tomato ketchup : 3 tbsp
For topping :
Mozzarella cheese : 1/2 cup grated
Method for dough :
1. In a bowl add maida and butter.
2. Mix it well with your fingers to a coarse texture.
3. Add ice cold water and knead it to a dough.
4. Wrap it in cling film or any plastic wrap and keep in fridge for 30 min.
5. Tartlets dough is ready.
Method for filling :
1. In a plate cut paneer into small cubes. Keep aside.
2. Heat oil in kadai. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter for a sec.
3. Add onions and fry till golden. Add salt, red chilli powder, kasuri methi and garam masala. Mix well.
4. Add paneer cubes and mix well.
5. Add tomato ketchup and mix.
6. Switch off the flame and let it cool.
7. Filling is ready.
Method to assemble and bake :
1. Take out the tartlet dough from the fridge. Take small ball from the dough and spread it with hands or rolling pin like chapati. Place chapati on the tart moulds. And prick each tart with fork.
2. Fill in the filling. And spread with cheese on top.
3. Preheat oven at 220*C for 10 minutes.
4. Bake for 25-30 minutes till the cheese is golden.
5. Take out the baked tarts from oven. And cool a bit.
6. Take out baked paneer tarts from the moulds.
7. Paneer tartlets are ready. Serve warm.
