Custard semiya/ Custard vermicelli
Custard semiya is a fusion Indian dessert/ pudding prepared by cooking roasted semiya with milk custard and then served by adding nuts on top. Custard semiya is a thick, flavourful, easy and creamy dessert.
Quick tip -
1. Add sugar to taste.
Ingredients -
500 ml milk
1-1/2 tbsp vanilla custard powder
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup roasted vermicelli/ semiya
6-7 almonds chopped
Method -
1. In a small bowl mix custard powder with 2-3 tbsp water. Keep aside.
2. Boil milk in a pan. Slow the flame and add diluted custard powder to it. Mix well and keep cooking on slow flame for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add roasted vermicelli. Mix well and cook on slow flame stirring.
4. Keep cooking and stirring on slow flame.
5. Vermicelli is properly cooked. Add sugar and mix well.
6. Keep cooking on medium slow flame. Keep stirring. Custard vermicelli will get thick. Switch off the flame.
7. Custard vermicelli is ready. Cool it completely. Keep it in the fridge to cool.
8. Garnish with almonds and serve chilled.
