Onion garlic focaccia bread
Onion garlic focaccia bread is an easy Italian bread topped with onion, garlic and herbs. This flavoured and aromatic onion garlic bread tastes fabulous. This drool worthy soft and spongy bread can be eaten as it is or can be served along with soup or tea or coffee.
Ingredients -
Sugar : 1 tbsp
Dried yeast : 1 tbsp
Warm Water : 1/2 cup
Other Ingredients -
Maida : 3 cups
Salt : to taste
Oregano : 1 tsp
Water as needed
Oil : 1 tbsp
Ingredients for topping :
Oil : 1 tbsp
Onion : 1 sliced
Garlic : 1 tbsp
Oregano : 1 tsp
All purpose seasoning : 1 tbsp
Method :
1. In a bowl add sugar, yeast & warm water. Mix lightly & keep aside for 5 minutes till it is foamy.
2. In another bowl add maida, salt & oregano. Mix well. Now add the foamy mixture in it & knead the dough. Add warm water little by little as required to knead the dough. Dough should be smooth & soft. Rub oil on the dough. Cover it with lid & keep aside for 1 hour.
3. After 1 hour punch the dough & knead again. Grease the baking dish. Spread the dough in it. Cover it and keep aside for 1/2 hour.
4. After 1/2 hour make the impression with thumb on the spread dough in the baking dish. Spread oil all over the dough.
5. Top with onions, garlic, oregano & all purpose seasoning.
6. Preheat oven to 220*C for 10 minutes. Place baking dish inside the oven & bake for 20 minutes.
7. Take it out from the oven & cool it.
8. Onion garlic focaccia bread is ready. Take it out of the baking dish.
9. Slice & serve.
