Chilli Paneer

 Chilli Paneer 


Chilli Paneer is an Indo-Chinese dish. 
It is served with fried rice or noodles. But, it can also be relished with naan or roti. This delicious recipe is prepared by coating paneer cubes in flour and spices mix batter and then shallow fried until golden and crispy.

Ingredients -

250 gm Paneer (store bought)

For Batter - 

2 Tbsp  maida

2 Tbsp cornflour

1/2 tsp salt

For sauce -

2 Tbsp oil

1 Tbsp ginger, shredded

1 tbsp garlic, minced

1 Tbsp green chili (chopped)

1 onion thinly sliced

2 capsicum thinly sliced 

1 tsp chili flakes

1 tsp salt

2 Tbsp soy sauce

1 Tbsp vinegar

1 Tbsp tomato sauce

1-1/2 tsp cornflour

1/2 cup water 


Method -

1. Wash and cut paneer in dices. 


2. To make batter mix maida, cornflour, and salt in a bowl. Add water slowly to make a smooth batter.


3. Dip the paneer pieces in the batter.


4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium high heat for shallow fry paneer pieces. Oil should be moderately hot. 

5. Drop the paneer pieces slowly into oil in the frying pan.Fry the paneer in small batches. 


6. Fry them turning occasionally, until they are golden. 


7. Take them out over paper napkin or tissue paper or griddle.


8. For sauce heat the oil in wok over medium heat, add ginger, garlic and green chili stir for about one minutes. 

9. Add onion and fry till golden. Add capsicum and fry for a second. 


10. Add pinch of salt and mix. 


11. Take out some for garnishing in plate. 


12. Add salt, soy sauce, vinegar, chili flakes, and tomato sauce, mix for 1 minute. Mix water and cornflour and add to the sauce. 


13. Cook for few minutes, consistency of the sauce will get semi thick.  


14. Add paneer, and bell pepper into sauce.


15. Keep mixing for few more minutes. Switch off the flame. 


16. Chilli Paneer is ready, serve hot.

Paneer Poppers

 Paneer Poppers 


A perfect simple appetizing mouthwatering delicacy prepared by mixing grated paneer, onions, garlic, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper, cumin powder and maida. Make small balls from this mixture and dip it in a slurry prepared using maida, cornflour, salt, chilli powder and water. Then coating these balls with bread crumbs. Give it a resting time of 15 minutes in fridge. Drop these balls in hot oil and deep fry them till golden and crisp. Crispy paneer poppers are ready to serve. Serve with spicy tomato ketchup or any dip of your choice along with a hot cup of masala chai.


Ingredients -

200 gram Paneer grated

1  Onions chopped

1 tbsp Finely chopped Garlic 

1 Green chili grated

To taste Salt

1 tsp red chilli powder 

1 tsp black pepper powder 

1 tsp Cumin powder 

2 tbsp Maida 

Ingredients for batter - 

4 tbsp Maida 

 4 tsp Corn flour

To taste Salt

1/2 tsp Chili powder 

As needed little Water to make batter

For coating -

As needed Bread crumbs  


Method -

1. Take a mixing  bowl grate paneer in it. Add onions, garlic, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper and cumin powder. Add maida and mix well. 


2. Paneer mixture is ready.


3. Make small balls from this paneer mixture.  


4.  Place all the ready balls on the plate.


5. In a small bowl add maida, cornflour, salt and chilli powder. Mix well.


6. Mix water little by little and make a thick batter. 


7. Batter should be smooth and lump free.


8. Dip these paneer balls in maida cornflour batter.


9. Coat them with batter.


10. Take these balls out from the batter using fork.

oat them with bread crumbs.


12. Keep it in fridge for 15 minutes. 


13. Heat oil in a wok. Take the paneer balls out of the fridge and drop these balls in hot oil. 


14. Deep fry them on medium low flame till golden and crisp.

Remove these balls on tissue paper. Crispy paneer poppers are ready to serve. 


16. Arrange these poppers in a serving plate.


17. Serve with spicy tomato ketchup or any dip of your choice along with a hot cup of masala chai.


18. Serve hot.

Paneer tikka

 Paneer tikka 


Ingredients - 

400 gm paneer

1 onion cut into cubes

2 small capsicum deseed & cut into cubes 

Ingredients for marinate -

1 cup yogurt/ thick curd

1 tsp Chilli powder

1 tsp Tandoori masala

1 tbsp Garlic powder

1 tsp Black pepper powder

1 tsp Garam masala powder

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp chaat masala

To taste Salt 

1-1/2 tbsp besan

1 tbsp oil 

Other ingredients - 

As needed Butter 

For serving -

1 tbsp Lemon juice

2-3 tbsp tamarind chutney

4-5 tbsp chopped onion 


Method -

1. Wash, peel and cut onions in cubes. Wash, de-seed and cut capsicum in cubes. Cut paneer in thick cubes and keep aside till use.


2. Take a bowl add yogurt, chilli masala, tandoori masala, garlic powder, garam masala, black pepper, cumin powder, chaat masala, salt and mix well.


3. Add besan and mix to smooth paste. 


4. 
Add oil and mix well. 


5. 
Add onion, tomato and mix well. Add paneer cubes in batches. Mix well. 


6. 
Keep marinated ingredients in fridge for 2 hrs 30 minute.


7. 
Take skewers arrange onion, capsicum and paneer on it. 


8. Heat butter on the non stick grill pan. Place paneer veggie skewers on tawa and pour butter on the top.


9. Shallow fry them till golden and properly cooked.


10. Transfer paneer tikka on the plate. Garnish with lemon juice, tamarind chutney and chopped onions.


11. Serve hot with naan or paratha.
